Kabali: Movie Review
A guy who won some space in a don’s heart, Tamilnesan (Nassar),
by fighting bravely against the foreign company for the rights of the Indian employees,
could have never imagined what kind of a life was waiting for him.
Kabaliswaran or Kabali (Rajinikanth) eventually becomes an
important person for the present don Tamilnesan and starts assisting him for
every campaign and other underworld works.
This gradually gave him (Rajini) a good base to become the
next don after Tamilnesan and a much expected hatred by the other competitors.
This hatred deepened to such an extent that kabali is trapped in a false charge, by some of his fellow gang members, of starting a massacre at a temple that killed many, including his wife. And is imprisoned for 25 years.
This hatred deepened to such an extent that kabali is trapped in a false charge, by some of his fellow gang members, of starting a massacre at a temple that killed many, including his wife. And is imprisoned for 25 years.
The real thrill of the film starts now,
After Kabali gets released from prison after 25 years he immediately
resumes charge of his old gang who remained loyal to him. He goes in search of
all those betrayers for only they were the sources from which he could get some
clue about his wife. Because for him in the prison only the memories of his
young pregnant wife accompanied him whenever he felt lonely and depressed.
He soon confronts Loganathan or Loga (Mime Gopi), a
drug smuggler, who still wants to kill Kabali for he still remained a threat to
his empire and drug smuggling business.
The further suspense and some revelations in the middle of
the intense scenes makes this film a good weekend entertainer for the audience.
Basically, this is a typical Rajinikanth film, so a much
expected style is carried throughout the film, which can however is proved by
the nonstop whistles and howling of the audience.
Not being an acting oriented film, much of the acting skills
of Rajinikanth is not showcased in the film, which to a certain extent disappoints
some viewers, who would be in a search of content in it.
Songs are a big drawback of the film for the
dubbed version has irritating lyrics (maybe because it was simply translated
from Tamil to Hindi).
Talking about direction and cinematography, the
film was able to bind the audience together for these two factors played an
important role in helping thr film to sail through those 152 minutes.
Go and watch KABALI for Rajinikanth's style, for Radhika's convincing acting and to wonder why this film broke all the box office records.
