Simmba: Movie Review
A good entertainer with upbeat background music makes this
Ranveer Singh starrer Simmba a one time watch for this year end.
Simmba is a remake of the Tamil blockbuster ‘Temper’. Copying
(inspired) every exact scene from the original film makes Rohit Shetty a good Xerox
machine than a director. Though this film is really fun to watch, the story
line pulls this film a little step backwards.
Ranveer singh does his acting job very well with his good
dialogue delivery and actions, Sara Ali khan has nothing much to offer for the
film. The supporting cast plays its role well and prevents the film from dipping
at some points.

The entry of Ajay Devgn made the cinema hall cheer up and
also made them realise that Ajay had more screen time than Sara in the film.
The film ends with an indication for Akshay kumaar’s upcoming film ‘Sooryawanshi’
as a police officer.
A copy paste film could have invested in just dubbing the
Tamil blockbuster than remaking the whole film scene by scene. Go and watch
Simmba for Ranveer Singh and to enjoy a good family entertainer.

Robot 2.0 Review
Starting off with the visual punch was pretty over the mark
for an Indian film. However the budget division of Rs. 600 crore didn’t have a
corner for a good script. Terrific visuals with a below average script is the
building stone of this Rajini – Akshay starrer film Robot 2.0.
What happens when the ‘Aura’ of a human and thousands of
birds combine? A negative energy is born, that is Akshay Kumar for you. And to
fight this supernatural power ‘Chitti’ the andro-humanoid
robot which was dismantled in the first instalment of this film is
brought back.
Nila (Amy Jackson) is another andro-humanoid
robot which is not designed to fight but only to serve humans and do
household chores, is shown to be a movie buff. Her role is as irrelevant in the
film as Sana’s (Aishwaria Rai) voice in the film.
Watch Robot 2.0 to witness the
third version of Chitti – 3.0 during the climax of the film. With an eye
catching visual effect and a weak storyline, Robot 2.0 is yet another above average
film.
Adi is a video game developer with the American dream; Tara
is an architect, destined for Paris. But they lock eyes at a wedding and all
their plans go out of the window. They flirt, take a trip together, move in and
decide to date for as long as they’re both in Mumbai. But as expected, both fall in love and
eventually marry. The story line has nothing new to give to its audience but the
screenplay is what attracts them.
The screenplay is kept intact from its Tamil
predecessor and is a scene-for-scene remake and capitalizes on great moments
from the original film. The music (largely retained) with Gulzar’s new lyrics
also does a throwback to “OK Kanmani” in the best way possible.

Aditya Roy Kapur shines as a goofy, shorts-wearing
man-child. Shraddha is mostly sincere too, but Adi and Tara’s impulsive
infatuation is countered by Gopi uncle (Naseeruddin Shah) and Charu aunty’s
(Leela Samson) golden-jubilee marriage; both senior actors grounding the movie
and saving it from becoming frivolous.
In spite of its Pros, one can’t deny that unsure
young lovers and their battle with commitment phobia is a tired topic to begin
with. Moreover, if you’ve seen the original Tamil film, it’ll get tedious after
a while, knowing exactly what’s coming next.

Talking
about the songs the tile track and ‘Enna sona’ will surely grab many ears. But it
is surprising that all those were composed by A.R Rahman, this happens because
his standards are expected much more higher than that used in this movie.
There is nothing much to offer in the acting part execpt the charm that both of them have. Naseer sir like always has impressed the audience by his versatality.

Also to be concidered is the direction of the film dosent loose the pace and even does not drag, a huge thumbs up for that.
If you haven’t seen the original though, you’re sure to walk
out of the theatre with a warm-fuzzy feeling.Go
and watch OK JAANU for Shraddha and Adity’s chemistry plus the amazing
screenplay of the film.
“Re humaari choriya choro se kamm hai
ke?”– Mahavir Singh Phogat
An inspiring
film with perfection at every aspect in its making be it acting, direction or
cinematography. This is a biopic based on the journey of Mahavir Singh Phogatwho taught wrestling to his daughtersGeeta
PhogatandBabita
Kumari. The former is India's first female
wrestler to win at the2010 Commonwealth Games, where she won the gold medal (55 kg). Later her sister Babita Kumari won the silver (51 kg).
However the story might seem simple, but
the journey wasn’t and this is beautifully portrayed on the screen by Nitesh
Tiwari (Director). The film starts off with the dream of a father (who was a
former national wrestling champion) of having a son as he wanted him to win an
international gold medal in wrestling for India. The sad part is Mahavir ended
up having four kids and all four were daughters and with the fourth daughter
he had lost all his hopes of winning a gold medal.
One fine day when a neighbor came to
their house complaining about how brutally Mahavir’s daughters had thrashed
their sons, made him realize that the importance of a gold medal remains the
same whether it is won by a son or a daughter and all his life he was worried
about producing a son and then winning a gold medal for India. This realization
of Mahavir changed the life of Geeta and Babita completely.

The transition of two weak and playful
daughters to strong and international champions was a difficult one.
Right from the early morning exercise then
from being teased in school to sacrificing their most loved spicy food to only
eating vegetables and chicken is shown very smartly by the director and is
portrayed beautifully by the cinematographer. Talking about the background
score, it fits well and the music composer Pritam has tried to keep the songs
desi and strong.

The hardships faced by Mahavir to make
his daughters good wrestlers can be deeply felt and can leave you moved while
watching the film, thanks to Aamir Khan’s acting skills. Sakshi Tanwar as
mother has done a very good job and deserves appraisal. Fatima Sana Sheik, Sanya Malhotra, Zaira Wasim and Suhani Bhatnagar as daughters have done fairly
well and have done justice to their respected roles.
Go and watch
Dangal for its amazing story and exceptionally well executed acting skills. This
story is a perfect film to end the year inspired and joyfully.

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil:
Movie Review
“Ek Tarfah
Pyaar Ki Taaqat Hi Kuch Aur Hoti Hai… Auro Ki Tarah Ye Do Logo Me Nahi Battha…
Sirf Mera Haqq Hai Ispe.”- ADHM
Happy Diwali
to all!!
Sad to say
that this Diwali film ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ fails to impress the audience. It’s
more of an ok ok film that we generally say. The most awaited film miserably falls
apart in its plot and the way it's made, only some scenes are heart touching
while others are purely over dramatic and cheesy.
In the initial
hour of the film the story doesn’t move an inch, nothing happens, it’s just two
people enjoying their accidental friendship. The history of a boy falling for
the girl who doesn’t know about it, is repeated. Although, I agree that this
topic is still powerful and still has the potential to win the audience’s
hearts and emotions but in this case the topic is filmed in the same way like
other Karan Johar films are made (Clichéd), but on the other hand there is
still a way huge audience for typical Karan Johar fims- sorry to say but this
film will disappoint you.
Whenever the
protagonist falls for a girl either she loves someone else or she loves him too
but she is ready to sacrifice her love because she knows he loves someone else!
– I mean what a crap…!
What really
is liked by the audience is the beautiful screenplay, Cinematography and the
songs. I guess people into the film editing field will easily understand the
power of colour grading in the film.
One will
feel cheated when he/she will encounter the climax of the film and will surely
feel that this film could be a blockbuster only if the writer of the film didn’t
take the audience for granted. I would suggest the readers to go and watch this
film just to know how a film with some potential can directly go into a trash
bin during those 157 minutes.
The songs of
the film have to be appreciated as it had soul in it and easily gelled with the
audience’s emotions.
Acting of
course is another factor which has to be appreciated. Ranbir Kaboor was
excellent during the emotional scenes and Anushka was great while emoting her dilemma
in the film.
Go and watch
the film to experience the pain of one sided love through the acting of Ranbir….
Oh…never mind about the film.

M.S. DHONI: Movie
Review
"Absolutely
magnificent... Dhoni, finishes off in-style... a magnificent strike into the crowd!
India lifts the world cup after 28 years, the party started in the dressing
room and it's an Indian captain who's been absolutely magnificent at the
night of the final."- Commentator, 2011 Cricket
World Cup.
Shushant Singh Rajput shines well throughout the film and
his hard work studying Dhoni’s skills can be clearly seen. Being a 3hour 10minute
film, earlier it was felt that the film might drag the story a bit but by
surprise the film doesn’t. The eagerness to know the story of a living legend
and the ability of the director to make the film in such a way that gives Goosebumps
to the viewers are the major plus points of the film.

M.S. Dhoni- An Untold
Story, is an ode to friendship, struggles, responsibility, compromise and
facing life regardless of the unexpected turns and twists.
The editing team of
the film has also done a great job as it tried to make the film as real as
possible. For example morphing Sushant into the actual video of the match with
Suresh Raina and Yuvraj Sngh.
The romantic scenes in
the film could be improved as love also played a major role in Dhoni’s life. But
this drawback gets faded when the other great aspects of the film amazes the audience.

As a reviewer I actually
don’t want to reveal anything about the way the story of the film is compiled
up, because it will spoil the viewing experience of the reader.
A must watch for everyone
as this is one of those films which leaves an impact on everyone’s lives. Go and
watch this film for this inspiring story, mind blowing Sushant’s resemblance to
Dhoni and a 190 minute journey of back to back Goosebumps.
